The Amazing Adventures of Jafir, Volume 1 Journey To The Sea

Jafir is a brave young adventurer growing up in dangerous, lawless Ethiopia in 1830. After a day of play on the Savannah, ten-year-old Jafir and his younger sister, Boomtina, head home to their village when they're chased and attacked by a hungry lion. They run and hide from the lion in a giant Baobab tree.

Jafir vanquishes the lion during a storm, but he and his sister become lost and cannot find their way home.

Outlaws then capture Boomtina, leading Jafir on a trek to find her and bring her safely home. The more he searches for his sister, the farther he finds himself from home, and the closer Jafir comes to danger and adventures that will test his will to live.
